Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa reveals new renovated accommodation for families

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is proud to reveal new luxury renovated accommodation specifically designed for families at their 5-star beach resort. This follows the completion of a $20 million renovation which was announced in early 2019. These varied, high specification accommodation types are spaciously designed to safely host and entertain young children and are newly fitted with top of the range amenities.

Family Offerings & Easy- Access Location

Situated on the large private island of Furanafushi, Sheraton Maldives is the ideal family retreat uniquely located just 1km and a 15 minute speedboat ride away from Malé International Airport. This dream location prevents parents from worrying about additional travel time or costs of seaplanes. Children find themselves on a jet-ski or at the Sheraton Adventure Club within an hour of touching town at the airport. Parents can then relax and unwind at the resort’s spectacular food and beverage offerings after a smooth, easy journey.

Sheraton Maldives is much larger than most Maldivian islands offering 176 guest rooms designed to blend into the surrounding turquoise waters, pristine beaches and lush greenery. Cleverly spread out, the resorts also boasts 7 different restaurants and bars, the kids Sheraton Adventure Club, the Shine Spa for Sheraton located on its very own island, and 3 outdoor tropical fresh water pools. The resort caters for all guests and is the perfect destination for families.

Emilio Fortini, General Manager for Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, comments: “What sets Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa apart from other Maldivian resorts is, undeniably our family appeal. Since completing our renovation programme we have seen a significant increase in parents with young children or teens choosing our resort for their annual family holiday. Our offering is so varied from the new range of room categories, the easy access location, our tailored childcare services and our bespoke waters-sports and wellness experiences. As a result of this, families can spend quality time together without feeling on top of each other – this is also largely due to the strategic layout of the island. We are now starting to see an increase in multi-generational visits too, as our tropical paradise suits the whole team – from toddlers to grandparents.”

The Sheraton Maldives offers 10 different luxury room categories all located around the island. With three types of holiday cottages sleeping four people and interconnecting rooms for parents and children. The addition of a ‘Cottage with Pool’ has been carefully designed for families and includes a plunge pool for young children with access to the beach. For families looking for further luxury the Ocean Pool Villas which feature a king-sized room, one guest room and private garden with inifity plunge pool, daybed, hammock and outdoor shower and private decked area will be a popular option.

Offering 7 bars and restaurants in total, the resort ensures that a variety of dining options are available ranging from a casual ‘al fresco’ treat before the kids head on to bed to a quintessentially Maldivian feast. The newest addition to the renovations includes the centrally located Feast Restaurant. This restaurant offers both breakfast and dinner in a buffet style and with a different themed cuisine each day – perfect for catering to the whole family’s taste. There is variety of bars and cafes available on the waterfront for a lunchtime snack. Children’s menus are available at all restaurants and families are also welcome to purchase all-inclusive dining programmes for young ones.

The Sheraton Adventure Club is designed for children aged 4 to 12 and provides a comfortable environment for children of all ages along with arranging an abundance of activities all around the resort. These range from water-sports, cooking classes to interactive beach activities. Parents are given the opportunity to relax knowing that their little ones are being well cared for and entertained.

The resort is simultaneously an all-round haven of pure relaxation as well as a playground for all outdoor passions. The Shine Spa for Sheraton is situated on its own secluded, private island where mothers and daughters can spend quality time together whilst relaxing and enjoying a variety of wellness treatments. On the other extreme, the resort proudly plays host to an extensive water sports offering, carried out by Extreme Maldives, where families can get their adrenaline pumping. Water sports available include parasailing, scuba diving, fly boarding, wind surfing and even surfing in the lagoon, which is very rare for a Maldivian resort to offer. The resort also provides a selection of tailored themed evenings for families to enjoy and prides itself in its seasonal experiences, which include Father Christmas gate crashing the full-resort festive sandbank picnic on a fly board.
