Get ready to experience the famous Buddha-Bar Beach at Abaton!

The Greek island of Crete has long been a go-to summer destination for any traveller seeking sun rays and relaxation. And Abaton Island Resort & Spa, just 30 minutes from the capital of Heraklion, continues to be a must-visit for its stylish 5-star accommodation, Elemis spa, gastronomy and luxury service.

But this year is poised to be Abaton’s biggest year yet as the hotel announces HUGE news. The hotel’s season opening on 20 April brings the internationally known Buddha-Bar Beach Crete Abaton, opening on 15 May, exciting new upgrades and facilities that’ll make guests never want to leave.

The Unbeatable Buddha-Bar Beach

As the main highlight, Abaton unveils Buddha-Bar Beach Crete Abaton this May, giving guests a top of the range beach club, restaurant and summer lifestyle experience like no other. Undoubtedly one of the hot spots on Crete island, Buddha-Bar Beach blends fusion Asian cuisine with international DJs and live events to keep the summer alive and thriving.

Resident DJ Murda brings together mystical, ethnic and electronic sounds inspired by a variety of cultures. Starting and debuting as a DJ in 2007 in his multicultural hometown in Mexico, he started djing for Buddha-Bar Mexico. DJ Murda’s talent and passion quickly led to him becoming the resident DJ and also sharing resident DJ title in Buddha-Bar Paris. Abaton’s music lovers are in for a huge treat.

As the third Buddha-Bar in Greece, it will make the most of Abaton’s scenic location, just metres from the sea and pool, becoming a mecca for those who like to party with friends, enjoy great food and appreciate the fun side of life.

Guests can look forward to a fantastic experience combining the restaurant’s sublime atmosphere with exceptional views of the Aegean Sea. A menu of exceptional fusion Asian recipes, together with Buddha-Bar signature specialities, will be offered during the daytime, while the evening will see the scene transform with sensational music, delightful dishes, and exceptional cocktails from expert Buddha-Bar mixologists.

But the luxury summer living and dining doesn’t stop there. Abaton has five more restaurants offering fresh sushi, juicy steak and local delights. The new additions this year are an a la carte service and a delicious buffet.

Brand New Accommodation

Reflecting its surroundings, Abaton’s collection of guestrooms, suites and villas stretch across 364 m of Cretan coastline. All accommodation options—152 dazzling white accommodations, each custom-designed—offer either an outdoor terrace or a private pool, most with a brilliant sea view.

This season adds heated pools to the Luxury Seafront Guestroom with private pool, Honeymoon Suite and Loft Luxury Seafront Guestroom with private pool. In addition to heated pools, villas get new outdoor Jacuzzis.

Fresh Facilities

Abaton’s centrepiece is the main pool at the heart of the resort, presenting the best views on the island, especially at sunset. The pool will be heated this year, and for those who would rather unwind indoors, a second heated pool can be found inside the spa.

The Elemis Spa also has a Turkish hammam, sauna and gym, nail bar and tempting treatment list loaded with scrubs, rubs, rituals and massages. A personal trainer is on-hand, and the gym has top-spec fitness equipment.

Throughout the hotel, facilities will be enhanced with a business centre, hi-tech teen play zone, private karaoke room, watersports and summer activities like outdoor movie nights.
