As good as it Grates! We Love Cheese takes over Battersea Power Station this May for two day festival

We Love Cheese head to Battersea Power Station in partnership with Vagabond’s Urban Winery

IMG_6349 (1)Now in its third year, We Love Cheese, the free festival for cheese lovers, returns this Spring and promises to be bigger and better than ever, in a brand new venue.

Set to the breathtaking backdrop of Battersea Power Station, one of the capital’s most iconic Grade II* listed buildings, London’s cheesiest food festival will take place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May, expanding to 2 days in 2019 for the first time.

We Love Cheese will once again bring together the diverse world of ‘fromage’ with the likes of Raclette Brothers’ Alpine dishes, Mac To The Future’ signature mac’n’cheese and The Toasty Badger’s oozy toasties plus all your favourite cheese board accompaniments with charcuterie, fresh breads, olives, sauces and speciality produce.

While the country’s best cheese producers and importers such as Capo CacciaUne Normande à LondresAlsop & WalkerL’Ubriaco and Bath Soft Cheese will battle it out to win the coveted We Love Cheese Cup voted by guests on both days.

This year’s event, will also see the introduction of the wine fair led by resident urban winery and kitchen, Vagabond. The weekend’s wine sessions will be run from Vagabond’s award-winning Urban Winery, based in the heart of Battersea Power Station.

Taste English wine picked from locally sourced grapes. There will be plenty of opportunities to meet Vagabond’s resident winemaker, Gavin Monery and special guests, as well as insider tasting tips in their masterclass sessions and wine-focused talks.  If that isn’t enough the bar will be open on the riverside all weekend to pair with your cheesy choices.

Throughout the weekend, guests can head to the ‘Battersea Bites’ tent for a curated programme of talks and masterclasses including matching cheeses with wines or beers.

And because no festival is complete without music and entertainment for kids and adults alike, expect live performances, a craft area for little ones and the return of the Wheel of Cheese to be in with a chance of winning special prizes.

Already a fixture on any foodie’s calendar, We Love Cheese is coming to Battersea Power Station for the first time and will take place at Circus West Village, the new riverside quarter bustling with exciting new restaurants, cafes and bars at the foot of the iconic building. With such a cheese-loaded, fun and family-friendly weekend, where would you rather brie?!

We Love Cheese is free to attend on Saturday 11 May (12pm – 6pm) and Sunday 12 May (11am-5pm) at Battersea Power Station.

Voting cards for the We Love Cheese Cup are £8 in advance or £12 on the day and include tasters of all the cheeses in the competition and one complimentary drink.
