Following the announcement that the upcoming third season of Derry Girls will be the last of the series, Hastings Hotels and McComb’s Coach Travel have teamed up to launch a new day trip to give fans of the hit show the chance to walk in the shoes of Michelle, Erin, Clare, and Orla. The Derry Girls Experience will go from Belfast to Derry-Londonderry. Due to overwhelming demand, a new Line of Duty Experience has also been launched. Both tours will run weekly from Saturday 6th November, departing from the Europa Hotel.
Julie Hastings, Marketing Director of Hastings Hotels, said: “We’re devastated that the much-loved Derry Girls series is coming to an end. However, we are thrilled to be able to partner up with McComb’s to launch this fabulous new experience and give fans the chance to be a Derry Girl for the day. They will be able to visit some of the most famous filming locations and enjoy an afternoon tea twist that has been inspired by the show and includes sausage roll baps, fresh cream horns, a cone of chips and Tayto cheese and onion sarnies.
In addition to this, we have been blown away by the response to our Line of Duty Experience, with over 1,000 people booking it to date. We are excited to be able to double the capacity by launching a new tour from the Europa Hotel and give even more fans of the hit show the chance to follow in the footsteps of their favourite coppers from AC-12.”

Line of Duty Experience
The Line of Duty Experience from Europa Hotel starts with tea, coffee, and a muffin before departing on tour, which takes in some of the most recognisable filming locations, including ‘Pelbury House’, the headquarters of the Central Police force, provided the backdrop of Ted Hastings famous peaked-cap adjustments; ‘Kingsgate Printing Services’. The building used as a front for members of the OCG (Organised Crime Gang); the Lorry Park where Kate shot Ryan Pilkington before doing a runner with Jo Davidson in Series 6 and of course, the iconic Subway location, the favourite meeting point for Steve and Kate to have their secret rendezvous, and perhaps the most striking spot to get that LOD selfie!
Other filming locations on the tour include Brentiss Prison, which viewers watched prisoners being escorted to, including Detective Superintendent Jo Davidson after her arrest; Tresco Storage, the company used in Series 3 by Danny Waldron to store the decapitated head of Linus Murphy, which was later discovered by Steve; and who could forget the incident in the opening episode of Series 6 that first made viewers suspect that DCI Davidson was a bent copper when en route to raid the address of a suspect in the murder of Gail Vella Hickies, she redirected the convoy to Hickey’s Bookmakers for what she ‘suspected’ was an armed robbery. After viewing all the film sites, fans will enjoy lunch in the Causerie with a glass of wine or a pint of beer.
