Deputy Mayor Pauline Curran, will open The Boathouse Fisheries’ new Bistro

After nearly thirty years of dedication to the fishing and seafood industry, local entrepreneurs Cieron Bull and Richard Honeyball have announced the launch of a new retail shop and bistro in Hythe.

Cieron began his career at 15, working weekends for Jeff Griggs at Fisherman’s Landing Beach. In 2005, Richard joined the team, and the pair worked side by side until 2018. That year, they launched The Boathouse Fisheries Ltd at St Mary’s Bay, offering wholesale supply, retail fish sales, and a bistro.

The new retail shop opened in February and has already become a local favourite. On 1 July at 10.00, the Boathouse Bistro will be opened by Deputy Mayor Pauline Curran, and Nikki Curran of YourToastmasters. The new bistro brings with it a unique dining experience featuring a licensed bar serving local beers, wines, and ciders.

“Our mission has always been to bring our customers the freshest fish and seafood,” said co-founder Cieron Bull. “The bistro is a natural extension of that, offering a space to enjoy great food and drink in a relaxed setting.”

Richard added, “We’ve spent years building strong relationships with our suppliers and customers. The return to Hythe gives us a fresh start with room to grow, and we’re excited to welcome both loyal regulars and new faces to experience what we do best.”

Diners can look forward to traditional fish and chips, exquisite seafood sharing platters, and its legendary Scallop and Bacon Roll. The menu is carefully crafted, using only the finest quality ingredients and homemade desserts to round off each meal.

Opening Day Offer

The first five customers on 1st July will receive 10% off their meal.
