Tanah Gajah – a resort by Hadiprana welcomes Kyotos iconic coffee brand Kurasu for an exclusive coffee and matcha pop up in Balis highlands.

Unique Pop-Up Runs Through May 2026

The limited-time pop-up is open to guests of the resort until 8 May 2026, offering a cultural blend of Indonesian hospitality and traditional Japanese beverage craft. Set amid the tranquil, undulating hills near Ubud, the experience aims to deepen visitors’ appreciation of both local and Kyoto traditions.

Patrons can sample Kurasu’s signature Natsu Ake Blend, a medium roast with floral and citrus notes, alongside a rotating selection of hand-drip coffees. Matcha offerings include exclusive creations such as the Matcha Kinako and Coconut Matcha Cloud, as well as classic ceremonial blends and lattes

Designed for Reflection and Ritual

The pop-up unfolds across spaces steeped in resort history, such as the Panen Padi Lounge and the Yoga Pavilions — once cherished by Hendra Hadiprana, the late architect who founded the property. Guests are invited to participate in a five-course tea omakase experience set among tatami-inspired furnishings with scenic views over rice paddies.

This contemplative setting underscores the collaboration’s focus on mindfulness and sensory engagement, encouraging guests to slow down and savour each moment.

A Cultural Bridge

The partnership also celebrates the legacy of Hadiprana, whose design philosophy drew on global influences, including his early work creating a Japanese zen garden. The Kurasu pop-up honours this cross-cultural narrative by inviting guests into a space where Balinese natural beauty meets Japanese ritual and precision.

Available within the resort’s sweeping landscape of villas, gardens and rice fields, the experience adds to Tanah Gajah’s roster of signature offerings designed to deepen visitors’ connection with Bali’s heritage and environment.
