EDIT Napoli is bringing its celebration of independent contemporary design to the island of Capri through a new collaboration with Jumeirah Capri Palace and the Municipality of Anacapri.
Titled Esclusivo|Inclusivo, the project extends beyond the boundaries of EDIT Napoli’s annual design fair in Naples and introduces a new cultural programme in one of Italy’s most captivating destinations. Set in the peaceful heights of Anacapri, the initiative explores the relationship between design, craftsmanship, creativity and place. At its heart is Villa Rosa, a historic residence transformed into an immersive space showcasing contemporary design in a domestic setting.
A New Cultural Hub for Anacapri
Located along the scenic route connecting Anacapri with Villa San Michele, Villa Rosa has a rich and layered history.
Originally a nineteenth-century private residence, the building later became a hotel before evolving into a cultural venue. Following an extensive restoration by the Municipality of Anacapri, the villa is now reopening as a contemporary cultural hub.
For Esclusivo|Inclusivo, Villa Rosa has been transformed into a lived-in environment rather than a traditional exhibition space. Visitors are invited to move through rooms curated by international designers, experiencing objects and furnishings as part of everyday life rather than as standalone displays.
The exhibition has been curated by Domitilla Dardi, co-founder and curator of EDIT Napoli, alongside Emilia Petruccelli, co-founder and director of the organisation.
Design Beyond the Fair
Known for championing independent designers and design authorship, EDIT Napoli has established itself as one of Italy’s most influential contemporary design platforms.
With this latest initiative, the organisation takes its vision beyond Naples and places it within the Mediterranean landscape of Capri. The project reflects EDIT Napoli’s commitment to creating meaningful connections between design, culture and local communities.
Rather than presenting design within a conventional exhibition format, the programme encourages visitors to engage with creativity through space, light, materials and architecture.
Conversations Shaping Contemporary Design
Alongside the Villa Rosa exhibition, Jumeirah Capri Palace will host a series of talks and presentations exploring the future of design and craftsmanship.
The programme includes a presentation of works from Patricia Urquiola’s Hybrida collection for EDIT Napoli, as well as conversations examining production, contemporary living and the balance between exclusivity and inclusivity within design culture.
Featured contributors include luxury rug brand cc-tapis and designer Allegra Hicks on 24 May, while acclaimed design duo Formafantasma will participate in discussions on 4 July.

The partnership feels like a natural fit for Jumeirah Capri Palace, a hotel where art and design already play a central role in the guest experience.
Located in Anacapri, the property has long been recognised for blending architecture, contemporary art and luxury hospitality. Guests encounter works by celebrated artists including Arnaldo Pomodoro, Mimmo Paladino and Giorgio de Chirico throughout the hotel.
Design-led suites created by Patricia Urquiola and Giuliano Andrea Dell’Uva further reinforce the property’s creative identity.
