Hot Stone launches new site in Fitzrovia

Hot Stone brings London’s hottest Sushi, Sashimi and Ishiyaki to Fitzrovia

Critically acclaimed Islington favourite, Hot Stone, has opened the doors to its second restaurant, bringing its refined sushi, sashimi and signature hot stone Wagyu and Kobe steak to Fitzrovia. Set to open for in-restaurant dining on 17th May, in line with current government guidance, the elegant restaurant will be offering delivery and collection of its at-home menu from today, 11th March.

Having won acclaim for its delicious Japanese food featuring impeccably sourced ingredients at its debut site in Islington’s Chapel Market, the Fitzrovia restaurant will offer a unique sensory experience synonymous with Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai commitment to providing only the most exquisite of dishes whilst paying homage to Japanese traditions.

With over 19 years of experience in some of the city’s most prestigious Japanese restaurants, including Tsukiji, Nobu and Zuma, Chef Padam has created a menu bursting with fresh and beautiful produce, including ingredients sourced from Japan and rarely seen in the UK. As well as being one of only eight restaurants in the UK to serve certified Kobe beef, diners can expect freshly grated wasabi; Sanpuku, the finest nori sourced from Japan’s Ariake Sea; Koshihikari sushi rice and aged soy sauce.

Whilst doors remain closed, diners can enjoy an elevated ‘at home’ experience reflective of the a la carte menu. The Chirashi box – filled to the brim with the freshest and finest seafood, all dressed in truffle and caviar – alongside a delicious range of sushi, new-style sashimi and carpaccio. House favourites seared fatty tuna with red jalapeno, crunchy Hot Stone roll and 24pcs omakase box. The menu is available to order online from Hot Stone’s website and via Supper and UberEATS to select London postcodes from Thursday to Sunday, 5 pm – 9 pm. All orders placed until 13th March will receive a complimentary bottle of sake.

Once the restaurant is able to open its doors, diners can expect unrivalled sushi and sashimi alongside razor-sharp maki rolls as well as Hot Stone’s signature Ishiyaki menu â€“ inspired by the ancient Japanese art of cooking on searing-hot stones. Sear your cut of premium Kobe, A5 Wagyu and on black tiger prawns on 400°C sizzling stones brought to the table.

As well as Hot Stone signatures like the beautifully flaky, 48-hours marinated black cod, the new restaurant will offer dishes exclusive to Fitzrovia, including an A5 Japanese Wagyu & Uni Don, featuring the highest grade A5 Japanese wagyu beef with uni, Ikura, truffle, tsukemono and Koshihikari rice and ponzu sauce.

Inspired by the philosophy of minimalism and Japanese design, the interiors boast traditional wooden panelling, accent tiling and beautiful artwork by 18th century Japanese ukiyo-e painter Hokusai Katsushika, creating a modern space with a contemporary and refined atmosphere. Watch Chef and his team create a feast for the eyes at the open sushi bar, as they create delicate dishes made to order and exquisitely presented in either smart wooden boxes or on beautiful Japanese ceramic bowls and plates.

Sake will be spotlighted on the drinks menu with an extensive list accompanied by Old World wines, as well as Japanese spirits, whiskies and beers.
